Historic Voter Registration Drive in Bolivia

In less than 80 days the Bolivian government has conducted a hugely successful voter-registration drive across the country. The result: More than 4.8 million Bolivians will vote in the Dec. 6 elections. The process was conducted in a highly public, well-organized fashion, the polls are now computerized and each person's voter data include fingerprints and a photograph. It will be much more difficult to conduct voter fraud from now on. The long-term results are unknown. We'll see in December.
