Evo Morales and Democracy Now

Bolivian President Evo Morales, interviewed by Democracy Now's Amy Goodman, discusses the conflicts between indigenous desires for development and economic growth and some of the NGOs and nonprofit activist groups militating for no development, especially in the area of extractive industries. Most interesting is the split between the so-called "Left" groups. The issues are complex. It's not a simple left v. right dichotomy. Of course, that's often the case. Thanks to Goodman for her interview. It's too bad she didn't let him finish... View here.
For those who read Spanish, here's an early copy of the final declaration from the World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth.
