When accusations are made about possible links between terrorists around the world and leftist guerrillas or leftist governments in Latin America, the denunciations and denials often ring loud but empty. What do they say when a Spanish judge makes those same accusations, however, after a two-year investigation? We shall see.
The investigation is largely based on evidence collected from laptops seized at the scene of a Colombian military raid on a jungle hideout of the FARC, the Colombian guerrilla movement with ties to cocaine traffickers and, allegedly, the government of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. The raid took place in 2008.
